New Car for $1 million Weekday Windfall Winner
A man from Rosewood in Queensland, Australia is celebrating a $1 million Weekday Windfall win. His fantastic success came in the draw held on November 20.
Big hug
He had heard that a local ticket had won a $1 million Weekday Windfall prize. He went to the Rosewood newsagency to check if he was the winner and indeed he was. The celebrations began right away as he explained: “I gave the newsagency owner a big hug.” He’d been going to the same store for the past six months.
It’s not been an easy time for him in recent months. The Weekday Windfall winner says “times have been pretty tough” and added his win couldn’t have come at a better time.
Recent months have seen him want to buy a new car. Winning this $1 million prize means that can happen now. However, the Weekday Windfall winner says “now I’ll be able to buy an even better one!”
Wonderful gift
The owner of the Rosewood Newsagency is Amy Wang and she’s thrilled at the news. Speaking about the Weekday Windfalls win, she said: “It’s not only a great achievement for our store but also a wonderful gift for our community.” Her hope is that the $1 million will bring the winner “happiness and new possibilities in life.”
Celebratory signs have been put in the store and customers have been chatting about the win. The store owner says news of the win is “a wonderful surprise just before Christmas.” It’s the first division one winning entry they’ve sold since October.
There are some massive jackpots at present and Australia is not being left out. Thursday will see players trying to win the $100 million Australian Powerball jackpot. It’s the third-largest top prize of the year after four consecutive rollovers.
The last $100 million Australian Powerball jackpot win was in August and won by a woman from Brisbane.
Nearly half the Australian population is expected to buy a ticket hoping to become a multi-millionaire. Earlier this year a record $200 million Australian Powerball jackpot was won.
