Will you win tonight’s €200 million EuroMillions Jackpot?
History could be made this evening and it could be you who makes it. Friday 4th December sees a EuroMillions draw that has a record €200 million (£175 million) jackpot. Will it be won this evening, or could it grow even larger?
New rules that came into force in February of this year, saw the jackpot cap for the EuroMillions draw increased. It had previously been €190 but that was increased to €200 million. Now the new cap has been reached, the jackpot cap climbs to €210 million once this fantastic prize is finally won.
An historic night
Friday 20th November saw a €130 million EuroMillions Superdraw take place. A series of rollovers has seen the jackpot keep on climbing and tonight it’s the first ever €200 million draw.
The €190 million jackpot cap had only been reached on four previous occasions. It first happened in August 2012, when Adrian and Gillian Bayford from the UK won the jackpot, which was worth £148m at the time.
October 2014 saw a €190 million EuroMillions jackpot won by an anonymous ticket holder in Portugal. Three years later, a ticket sold in Las Palmas, Spain scooped the €190 million top prize.
The most recent was in September of last year when an anonymous UK player won the jackpot. If tonight’s draw produces a UK winner, it will beat the record £161 million that Chris and the late Colin Weir from Scotland won in 2011.
What if it’s a rollover tonight?
If no one does win the jackpot this evening, it’ll make next Tuesday’s draw even more potentially profitable. That’s because it could be good news for those matching the five main numbers and one lucky star.
With the jackpot remaining at €200 million, the funds that would normally increase the jackpot will increase the value of the second-tier prize. The jackpot can only stay at €200 million for four draws, if it still hasn’t been won, then we’ll be set for a ‘Must Be Won’ draw on Friday 18th December, all just in time for Christmas.
