Village Lands Second Irish Lotto Jackpot in Six Months

If you’re ever in Ireland, it seems the village of Duleek in County Meath is the place to buy tickets. The March 18  €3.9m Irish Lotto jackpot was purchased there, the second big win in six months.

The latest Irish Lotto jackpot winner has now claimed his jackpot win but asked to remain anonymous.  We do know his winning ticket was bought from Bowe’s EuroSpar in Duleek and he is a local man.

It took him a week to claim his €3.9m Irish Lotto jackpot. Speaking about his amazing success, he said that he “still can’t process” his win. “ I kept double checking and triple checking the ticket all week to make sure I hadn’t made a mistake.”

Surreal Feeling

When his cheque was received everything hit home and he admits to nearly keeling over. “It’s the most surreal feeling ever,” said the Irish Lotto winner. but today, the ticket was confirmed, and I nearly keeled over and said it was the “most surreal feeling ever.”

He already has plans on how to spend his Irish Lotto win.  “I’m determined to share this prize with my nearest and dearest to spread some joy,” he said.  That’s already started with some money being given to friends.

His aim is to “help change their lives a little.” Now he’s working out how to divide the rest of his win among his family.

Sunny Holiday

There will be some treats for himself though. He can’t wait to “hop on a plane” and enjoy a “nice long holiday in the sun.”

Last October saw a €8.9m Irish Lotto winning ticket sold in the village.  It’s not just in the past six months that the village has been enjoying lottery success. There have been other big wins with Kathleen Sheridan being part of a €175m EuroMillions winning syndicate.

Aidan Coleman runs a coffee shop in Duleek and he's even recently been part of a ten-person syndicate that won €20,000. "There's something in the water… we've had a lot of winners here," he joked.
