Unforgettable Movie Night for £111,111 Postcode Lottery Winner
Christina from Blaydon-on-Tyne in the north east of England was looking forward to seeing the ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ movie. It became even more enjoyable when during the movie she found out about a £111,111 Postcode Lottery win.
It's been two years since she moved into her current home. Amazingly, the previous owner still uses its postcode so has also won a £111,111 Postcode Lottery prize.
The former occupant of the semi (who asked to remain anonymous) returned to collect their cheque. Speaking about the win, they said: “It’s mad, isn’t it? It’s the house!” They added: “I didn’t think you’d be knocking at my old door.”
Crazy cinema visit
Christina was watching the new hit Marvel movie when she began to receive emails and a voice mail from the Postcode Lottery. The audience gets told to either switch their phones off or put them on mute. However, this lucky player thought to herself: “‘This isn't a joke, it will change our lives’.”
The nursery worker has been playing the draw since 2021. Luck must run in her family as an elderly relative won £2,000 playing the Postcode Lottery. That prompted Christina to start playing too, thinking to herself, “I want a bit of that as well.”
“Happy with £10,000”
Never did she imagine that three years later she’d be celebrating a £111,111 Postcode Lottery win. Chatting about her windfall, the mother-of-two said “I’d have been happy with £10,0000.” Still a bit shocked with what had happened, she added: “I don't know how to put this into words. It's a lot more than I ever thought I'd get."
Another couple from North East England won a £76,923 Postcode Lottery prize.
Her husband Matthew is a Nissan car plant worker. The couple and their eight-year-old son and seven-year-old daughter will be going on a summer break.
Later in the year, another holiday will be taken for a very special reason. Christina joked: “We're married 10 years in October and not got anything planned. That might change now.”
