THE UK’S LATEST EUROMILLIONS WINNER IS REVEALED

Last weekend we divulged that the UK’s first EuroMillions jackpot winner of 2014 had won a massive £107.9 million, and now we can reveal that the new millionaire is a car mechanic, race car driver and possible psychic from Coulsdon in Surrey.Neil Trotter, 41, told lottery officials at his unveiling that he had a good feeling about the exciting EuroMillions draw in the week leading up to it, and even predicted to colleagues that he would win that particular jackpot. He was so confident, in fact, that the lunchtime before the draw he told staff at his father’s office that at the same time the next day he would be a multi-millionaire. “I’ve always thought I’d win big,” Mr Trotter continued, as he discussed what he did when he realised that his lottery prediction had come true.As the draw took place on Friday evening, Mr Trotter watched as one by one the numbers on his lottery ticket matched those on the television screen. Shakily he told his partner, Nicky, 31, that he had won. “I told Nicky, my partner: ‘I’ve done it, I’ve won the lottery.’” he told the press conference on Wednesday morning, explaining that she didn’t believe him to start with and told him to “shut up and stop being an idiot.”Once he had managed to persuade Nicky that his lottery win was genuine, the couple didn’t know what to do with themselves. While Nicky screamed in delight, Neil couldn’t stand still and eventually called his father who didn’t believe him either. “My dad too told me I was being an idiot, and that I should stop drinking,” Neil said. It wasn’t until the couple, who have been together for eight years, drove to his house that Neil’s father discovered that they had been telling the truth. “My father is not often lost for words, but he was on Friday night.”Neil Trotter, who ran a car repair shop up until his big win, has already hung up his mechanic’s overalls. Telling the press that he unwittingly worked his last shift on Friday, he admitted that he regretted letting people down, but had decided that, after winning the lottery, now is his time. A self-confessed car racing fanatic, he plans to spend his time following the British Touring Car Championships, and his ultimate aim is to find his own racing car and get himself a guest driver slot in one of the races. The rest of his plans for the lottery winnings involve cars as well, as he is planning to replace his current Ford Focus with a fleet of supercars, as well as to buy a new house with plenty of garage space for his collection.Mr Trotter is the fourth biggest lottery winner in the UK and now features on the Sunday Times rich list. The next EuroMillions draw will take place on Friday 21st March and is worth an estimated £12 million.
