Toy Shop Trip Planned after £30,000 Postcode Lottery Win

Four neighbours are celebrating People’s Postcode Lottery wins. Three of them won £30,000 but the other had two tickets, so won £60,000.

Their postcode CT16 2QL won them their windfall in the May 15 Street Prize draw. One of the winners is Roddy and his wife of 34 years, Karen. They have lived in the winning postcode for the past 24 years. Roddy was delighted and shocked when discovering their People’s Postcode Lottery win was £30,000.

Handbags and watches

The grandfather-of-two said of his win: “You don't know how much of a good surprise this is, this kind of thing never happens to me. I didn't believe it at first, I thought it was a joke!" Plans for the win include buying a new handbag for his wife. He fancies a new watch but not any normal one. His dream is to own one of the James Bond films.

A trip to London is also being planned. He wants to take his eldest grandson to the famous toy shop Hamley’s. Once there his grandson can pick whatever he wants. Their youngest grandson is only seven months old so will have money put aside for their future. Before all that though the family are going to have a party to celebrate their win.

Helping Johnny

Another winner is Helen who had kind words for Postcode Lottery ambassador Jeff Brazier who presented her with the £30,000 cheque. “You’re the perfect man today,” she joked.

The first thing that Helen wants to do with her winnings is help her dog. 16-year-old Johnny needs an x-ray so this will pay for it. The People’s Postcode Lottery winner also wants to visit her mother in Scotland. A new couch will be bought for the house but first she’ll be having “a wee cup of tea” to celebrate her win.

Speaking about giving out the winning cheques, Jeff Brazier said it was “a pleasure to spread some cheer in Dover.” He’s “chuffed” for the winners and hope that they all enjoy spending their People’s Postcode Lottery wins.
