Three More Melbourne TattsLotto Millionaires Created

Melbourne seems to be a lucky city to play the lottery. The March 19 TattsLotto draw saw two tickets win $1.25 million but a syndicate won an even larger amount.

Werribee windfall

A syndicate of 10 players from Werribee in Melbourne, Victoria have become TattsLotto millionaires. Their luck was really in as they also had another 380 lower division wins and overall won $1,283,416. Each of the syndicate members will receive $128,341.60.

One of the outlets that sold a share in the winning syndicate was the Hudsons Lotto &Dry Cleaning Shop in Werribee. That’s a shop that has had plenty of lottery success in the past. Owner Peter Grey said that he’d sold four division one winning TattsLotto tickets, making it 19 in all.

This is the first division one success in three years. Mr Grey said: “We can’t wait to have our 20^th winner.”

Back to work

A lucky couple from Gladstone Park in Melbourne were also winners. They received a call from The Lott on the morning after the draw. It was a big surprise for them as they were both at work at the time.

The female half of the couple said that she hadn’t checked their ticket. “We never win anything, so I never expected this,” said the surprised winner. The lucky pair may be millionaires now, but they still had to continue with their work. A celebration that evening was planned, and they are now considering early retirement.

Champagne for breakfast

The other Melbourne winner was a man from Essendon.  It was champagne and mimosas for breakfast after he’d checked his TattsLotto ticket. He plays every Saturday and uses the same random numbers but has never had a win like this.

When discovering he was a millionaire, he went to wake up his wife. He’s known for playing pranks on his wife, so she didn’t initially believe a word of what he told her.

Speaking about the win, he said that “it’ll undoubtedly come in handy.” The winnings will be used to pay off their mortgage, a few holidays and helping their children.
