Three Jackpot Wins in Amazing Weekend for Lottery Players

What an incredible weekend it was for lottery players in the UK and America.  Friday and Saturday saw jackpot wins in the Mega Millions, Powerball and UK Lotto draws. Will we see more wins this week?

$112 million Mega Millions win

The amazing run of luck began on Friday January 17 with a $112 million Mega Millions win. A ticket sold in Tempe, Arizona won the jackpot.

It’s the second largest Mega Millions win in Arizona lottery history. The only higher win was in 2020 when a player won a $414 million top prize. The win came just three weeks after a Californian ticket won $1.2 billion. Tomorrow’s jackpot is $20 million.

Powerball jackpot won

Saturday was an even better day for lottery players with two more jackpots won. The stateside success continued with a ticket purchased in Beaverton, Oregon winning a $328.5 million jackpot.

The fantastic prize is yet to be claimed but we do know the ticket was bought the day before the lottery draw.  Last year  an Oregon ticket purchased by three players won a $1.3 billion Powerball jackpot.

Hat-trick of wins

Saturday also saw a £4 million UK Lotto jackpot won. It’s the third successive Saturday in which the UK Lotto jackpot has been won. January 4 saw a £7.5 million jackpot won by 20-year-old James Clarkson.

Seven days later a £4 million jackpot was won and now comes another win to complete the hat-trick.

No wonder Andy Carter, the senior winners’ advisor at the National Lottery said: “This year is off to an exciting start.” Wednesday’s lottery draw will have a £2 million top prize.

We’re still waiting for our first EuroMillions jackpot win of 2025. Tonight’s draw has a top prize of £72 million. The last jackpot win was on December 27 when a ticket sold in Spain won €41.2 million.
