Stop the Car! I’ve Won a $1 million Weekday Windfall Prize
Two Australians are celebrating both winning $1 million in the Weekday Windfall lottery. One of the winners was a woman from Victoria Point in Queensland who was on her way to work when finding out about her win.
Favourite game
The lucky player was driving when receiving a phone call telling her of the September 27 win. Her car had to be stopped as she tried to cope with the news. The regular lottery player tries her luck on several games as does her husband. The Weekday Windfall is one of their favourites and they probably love it even more now.
Her next task was to get in touch with her husband to tell him of the win that “is going to change our life.”
Plans for the $1 million win include helping their children to get on the property ladder. Some home renovations are also being planned.
Her winning ticket was purchased from the Victoria Point Newsagency which is managed by Dennis Tang. It’s a big moment for the store as this is the first division one winning ticket they have ever sold.
The following week a mother from Langwarrin in Melbourne in Victoria won $1 million in the October 2 Weekly Windfall draw. It’s the latest big win in that state after a recent $12 million Oz Lotto success.
Her ticket had been registered so that means the lottery company knew who had won the $1 million. That’s more than the winner herself who hadn’t seen the results of the draw. It was a massive shock therefore when she received the call informing her she was a lottery millionaire.
You’re kidding
“Oh, you’re kidding,” was her immediate response to the news. The Weekday Windfall winner continued: “You have made my day! I can’t think right now. I don’t know how to feel.”
Not everyone was going to be told her fantastic news. Her best friend would be informed of her success and her children.
The latter no longer live in the state of Victoria. Their delighted mother declared that this win “will help me move closer to them.”
