SPANISH RED CROSS TO BENEFIT FROM ESPECIAL DE CRUZ ROJA DRAW

Spain certainly loves their lottery draws and on Saturday April 8th it’s the Especial De Cruz Roja draw with €84m of prizes up for grabs. Even more important is that it will raise funds for the Spanish Red Cross.The draw is the latest in a series of special lottery draws held in Spain. There will be ten series of 100,000 tickets each and every ticket will have a five-digit number ranging from 00,000 to 99,000.It’s a special draw that will raise much needed funds for the Spanish Red Cross and has been doing so since 1924. Since 1964 the draw has been held in different towns of Spain and last year was held in Pamplona. This year players will be hoping luck will be on their side when the draw is made in Ourense. 70% of the Especial De Cruz Roja ticket sales are assigned to prizes meaning a total of €84,000,000 up for grabs.The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world’s largest humanitarian and development network. It has millions of volunteers in 190 member National Societies. Its work includes tackling the major humanitarian and development challenges that face the world. Their three key areas are disaster response and recovery, development and promoting social inclusion and peace.In recent years’ funds raised from the Especial De Cruz de Roja draw have been used to help older people and their caregivers searching for missing persons and restoration of family ties, helping sick people, and giving assistance to immigrants, Asylum Seekers, and Refugees.
