South Dublin ticket wins €7.3 million Irish Lotto jackpot
Lottery24 - Player from South Dublin wins €7.3 million Irish Lotto jackpotThis weekend one ticket holder won the €7.3 million jackpot on the Irish Lotto, but the winner has not yet come forward to claim the prize. The winning ticket, which was purchased in south Dublin, was purchased on Tuesday, September 16th at a supermarket in Dub Laoghaire County Dublin and matched numbers 7, 26, 34, 39, 41, 42 and 31. This winner joins another recent jackpot claimant from the same area, as an anonymous Irish Lotto winner won over €2 million this June. Amongst the staff and shoppers at SuperValu in the Killiney Shopping Centre on Rochestwon Avenue, speculation is rife about who the lucky millionaire could be, just like it was in County Meath in June this year when a mystery lottery player won €10 million.Operations manager at the SuperValu, Shane Rushe, said that the store was buzzing with excitement when the news broke that a customer had won the jackpot. “There is a great buzz around the shop this morning,” he said on the morning after the draw took place. “Everyone wondering who it was but there are no ideas, no names have come up yet.”Mr Rushe found out about his store’s big sale when he was contacted by local Dublin media, and he said that he is delighted that the store has finally sold a big winning Irish Lotto ticket. Thanks to the size of the jackpot for this weekend, the store had been busier than usual in the lead up and Mr Rushe said that he knows that all of his regular customers are hoping that they were the winners, but he doesn’t have any further information about the lucky player, unlike another store which sold a winning lottery ticket within the family.“There are lots of speculations about the winner and everyone is hoping it’s themselves. I’m disappointed I didn’t buy a ticket myself,” he continued. Although he has not been contacted directly by Irish Lotto officials, Mr Rushe said that the store will be receiving a payment for having sold a winning jackpot ticket, but he is not sure at this point of how much that will be exactly. The Irish Lotto winner is required to claim their winnings within 90 days, otherwise their €7.3 million ticket will expire, but of course the winner is able to remain anonymous after their claim, just like an Irish Lotto winner from Limerick. For your chance to win, purchase your lottery tickets online at Lottery24.com.
