Sleepless Night for $2 million Saturday Lotto Winners

A couple from Kerang in Victoria, Australia have won $2 million in the Saturday Lotto draw held on August 7.

They bought one of the five tickets that won a $2 million division one prize in the draw. The couple have asked to remain anonymous but did have a chat with the lottery organisers. The male half of the delighted couple said: “Oh god! This is absolutely fantastic news.”

What a Shock

He went on to recall just how their Saturday Lotto win was discovered. It was around midnight on Saturday that he went online to check the results. What a shock he received and it’s not too surprising that he says “Well, I certainly had a sleepless night after that!”

It’s not that easy to sleep when you end up in the state that he did. The Saturday Lotto winner admits that “I couldn’t stop shaking! I was in complete disbelief. It’s crazy!”  His wife was already asleep, but he then woke her up to spread the news of their Saturday Lotto win.

Initially, his wife couldn’t believe the news of their win. “There were quite a few tears between the both of us once it started to sink in,” he said. The couple did eventually go to bed, well it was past midnight but there was little sleep going on. “We stayed up chatting about what we will do with the money,” the Saturday Lotto winner recalled.

Another win on the way?

The couple had dreamed of such a win for decades. Despite their big win another lottery success might be just around the corner. “I’m feeling very lucky at the moment, so maybe you’ll be calling us about another division one win this week,” said the optimistic player.

The couple will be using some of their Saturday Lotto win to help their children. The rest will be used to help the couple in their retirement. The delighted player added: “It will be great not having to worry about money! This will be the best time of our lives.”
