Set for Life Winners Go to Haunted Museum
It’s Halloween weekend and there will be plenty of spooky moments. Set for Life winners, Laura Hoyle and Kirk Stevens, there have already been some chills and thrills after visiting the Museum of Justice in Nottingham, England.
March 2021 saw the couple win £10,000 every month for 30 years playing the Set for Life draw. For several years, they have been ghost hunters and their YouTube channel has thousands of subscribers.
Paranormal activity
Therefore, the Set for Life winners didn’t need to be asked twice if they fancied a trip to Nottingham. The Museum of Justice is a former prison, courtroom, and police station. For many years, people were put on trial, sentenced and there were some executions too. It’s the perfect place for some paranormal activity.
Laura and Kirk spent an evening there, armed with night vision cameras to report any spooky happenings. Perhaps even ghosts fancy asking Set for Life winners for a loan? The couple even visited the Sheriff’s Dungeon, a place the general public aren’t allowed to visit.
Kirk loved the visit, saying that “it was a dream come true.” They were accompanied by Stephen Dennis who is the museum’s head interpreter. He had “invaluable knowledge” of everything that had happened there.
Shadowy figures
Why visit the Museum of Justice? Well, it’s received over £5 million of funding from the National Lottery. That’s ensured it stays open, allowing ghost hunters aplenty to visit. Mr Dennis said that there have been “multiple ghost sightings” and that includes by staff members. Visitors have claimed to have heard voices, with staff members reporting seeing shadowy figures and “some believe they have encountered spirits.”
Set for Life winner Laura, said that she and Kirk “experienced a lot” during their visit. The activity they experienced was more than on other haunted sites. Recalling one scary moment, she said: “We also heard footsteps above us while in the Sheriff’s Dungeon, even though we were metres below the surface sandwiched by sandstone.”
Perhaps it might be a Halloween weekend of shocks and surprises, especially if you were to get a big lottery win!
