Sensible Spending and Fun for $1.2 million TattsLotto Winner

When a big lottery win comes along, coming to terms with the news is not easy. A married man from Romsey in Victoria, Australia, is feeling that way after a $1.2 million TattsLotto win on August 28 but he’s determined to spend his winnings sensibly.

His TattsLotto ticket was one of five that were lucky enough to win a division one prize, each receiving a total of $1,247,527.15. This player rom Romsey came out with a rather familiar answer when asked about his reactions to the win. “It’s absolutely unbelievable! You dream of this but never think it will happen to you.”

A big shock

He just cannot believe that thanks to the TattsLotto win he is now a millionaire. The lucky player didn’t see the draw live and then finally checked his ticket. “It was a big shock, and my mind was running a mile a minute,” he said.

The TattsLotto winner is a regular player but says he hasn’t won much in the past. He certainly never thought a division one prize would be won, “so this really is fantastic news,” said the delighted winner.

After chatting to lottery officials, he had a rather important job to do. He was yet to tell his wife about the TattsLotto win. He thought that initially she won’t believe what he’s saying. When she does finally believe him, a glass of wine will be needed. Then, they’ll sit down and work out how to spend their winnings.

Bills to be paid

When asked about future spending plans, the winner said he wanted to be sensible with the majority of the $1.2 million. That will include paying off the mortgage and his car. “It will be lots of bills first, and then I will have some fun,” he added. As for the rest, he’s not too sure but joked “I am sure my wife is going to have plenty of ideas.”

His winning TattsLotto ticket was purchased from the Romsey Supa IGA Newsagency & Lotto Shop. That’s managed by Craig Hendricksen and Belinda Cattlin. Craig said of the win: “Wow! It’s incredible to have played a part in making someone’s dream come true.”
