Second Time Policy Wins Player $1 million Lottery Prize
Sometimes you need to be patient to win a big lottery prize. That’s certainly been the case with Eddie Graham from Belmont in North Carolina, USA. He’s just won $1 million using a very special technique.
There are some games (especially scratchcards) in the US state that have second-chance promotions. Mr Graham only plays the games that have that offer. That gives him two chances to get a win and it’s paid off for him.
The lucky lottery winner says he is “still processing” winning $1 million. He’d been playing the ‘200X The Cash’ scratchcard but wasn’t successful. He then entered it into the second-chance lottery draw and won $1 million.
“Unreal”
The top prize available was $5 million but the North Carolina resident said his win “couldn’t have come at a better time.” “This is unreal” added the shocked winner
He opted to receive his winnings as a one-off payment of $600,000. After payment of taxes he walked away with $403,500. Gregory Warren from North Carolina won a $195,935 Cash 5 prize and nearly lost his ticket.
Now he plans on using his winnings to pay off some bills. He’ll also buy a truck but it’ll be a used one. Also planned is possibly buying a house and helping his family. "I can use this to take care of my daughter and granddaughter," said the lottery winner.
Also celebrating a big lottery win in North Carolina is Devin Gullate from the Charlotte area of Gaston County. He won a $321,794 jackpot playing Cash 5.
Long drive
The draw was held on January 30 but he didn’t claim his lottery prize until February 3. His ticket cost him $1 but after paying federal and state taxes he won $230,889,
He had a long drive to buy his winning lottery ticket. It was purchased from the Curve View Express in Shelby. That’s about a 45-mile drive west from Charlotte. Last year, Jerry Hicks found $20 and used it to win a $1 million Powerball prize.
