Scunthorpe couple win £1m EuroMillions prize for second time

SCUNTHORPE COUPLE WIN £1M EUROMILLIONS PRIZE FOR SECOND TIME

David and Kathleen Long won £1m in the EuroMillions draw held on Friday March 27 and amazingly it's the second time they have done so in the past two years. The couple from Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire, England beat odds of more than 283 billion to one.As we told you earlier this week, there's been a run of winners from Lincolnshire. Despite their £1m EuroMillions win in July 2013, the couple still live in a modest static caravan. David retired from his job as an HGV driver three days after that win. He also bought a new car and then last year he married Kathleen in a luxurious wedding after being engaged for 12 years.Mr Long said he "just knew it would be my turn again some day." Seeing there were ten £1m prizes and a luxury car to be won in Friday's EuroMillions draw, he decided to give it a go and play his usual numbers. But just like in 2013, it wasn't his EuroMillions numbers that won £1m, but the raffle number. He checked it and then calmly called his wife in and said "Have a look at this. It's there. Look. Read that line."Kathleen needed some convincing that they had won another £1m playing EuroMillions. She ended up close to their television, put her glasses on and stared at the raffle numbers. After what seemed ages she declared: "You said you'd do it again and you have!"Two years ago their first big EuroMillions win nearly didn't happen at all. He thought he'd only won £2.70 and chucked his ticket in the bin. When he finally decided to take it to the shop and claim his meagre prize he discovered it was actually worth £1m.Despite his big win, David isn't a fan of travelling and hates flying. The couple didn't even go on honeymoon but now after their second EuroMillions win it looks like they are finally going to go on holiday. "Kath would love me to book a Mediterranean cruise and I think I have just run out of excuses," he joked. The estimated jackpot for Friday April 3rd is £10 million: don’t miss this opportunity and purchase your tickets online at Lottery24.com.
