Unbelievable turn of events for EuroMillions winners

A lucky couple from East Lothian, Scotland couldn’t believe it when they won £1m. They became EuroMillions winners after lottery emails sent them an email with the good news.

A suspicious email or a life-changing message?

Alan and Claire Gray won £1m in the 19 July EuroMillions draw. The couple told lottery officials that they were suspicious when they first received an email saying they had won the UK Millionaire Maker jackpot.“At first I wasn’t sure if it was true,” Mr Gray explained. “When I phoned Camelot and they confirmed we had won £1 million we just couldn’t believe it.”The couple also had a hard time convincing their daughter of the news, “she thought we were winding her up.” With their £1m win starting to sink in, the couple are thinking about how to spend it.

More travel is on the cards

“We have always loved to travel and still have lots of places on our bucket list to tick off,” Mr Gray explained. They are already hoping to make a trip to Dubai later this year, and they’re thinking about getting a new car.“It’s very exciting to think that we can now do this.” Mr Gray works as a technician for an oil and gas company, while Mrs Gray is a senior early year’s practitioner. The EuroMillions winners will no longer have to worry about money though.

Time to treat themselves

“We enjoy going for a nice meal so perhaps a few trips to some Michelin star restaurants will be on the cards as well.” Although they said that the reality of their win is still quite surreal, the couple’s friends and family are all delighted for them.
