Round of Golf Leads to a $151,210 Powerball Win

Just how do you choose your lottery numbers? Two players in Maryland had rather unorthodox ways of selecting their numbers and both ended up winning big prizes, including a $151,210. Powerball prize.

December 21 was a special day for a lottery player in Maryland, USA. He won a $151,210 Powerball prize and says a game of golf helped him win.

Having seen a hole-in-one achieved, he included the number 1 in his selection both for a main number and the Powerball. The hole-in-one happened on the 17th so he included that too as was 21 because that was the date. They’d been given golf carts with the numbers 5 and 8 so he turned those into 58.

They helped give him four of the numbers drawn and also the Powerball which was 1. The only number he missed out on was 12 otherwise he’d have won the $92 million jackpot. Seeing he played in the 12th month of the year, why didn’t he choose that number?

Also celebrating in Maryland is a woman who won a $50,000 Pick 5 prize in the December 20 draw. Amazingly, she claims the winning numbers came to her in a dream..

Denise from Liverpool, England won £250,000 playing the Postcode Lottery  not long after her partner dreamt she’d get a win.

It was certainly a dream win for her but it nearly didn’t happen at all. The lucky player says that she was running late and nearly forgot to play the draw using those numbers.

Her husband said of his wife’s win. “When the Midas touch comes, hopefully, you're on it and thankfully we were,” he said. They are still deciding how to spend their windfall but were going to give their grandchildren some extra Christmas presents.
