Returning Postcode Lottery Player Wins £166,666

Last October saw David Baldwin from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, England cancel his Postcode Lottery ticket. Two months later, he started playing again and has just won £166,666.

Not gutted

The father-of-three is delighted at his win and that some of his neighbours have also been successful. However, he admitted that he would have “been gutted” if he hadn’t also won.

Sian Black from Tadley in Hampshire, England cancelled her Postcode Lottery ticket.  However, it was still valid for one more draw and won her £200,000.

Why did he decide to start playing the Postcode Lottery again?  “I probably saw an advert on TV and decided to restart it. Maybe I thought I would win.” Well, it’s certainly been the right decision to resume playing.

David works as a housing association neighbourhood manager. He says the Postcode Lottery win has left him “stunned, totally stunned.”

How will he spend his winnings? “We can get the fences fixed now,” said the lucky player. It could be a case of the sky’s the limit as David is considering taking flying lessons. He also wants to buy a new car and a camper van so they can enjoy plenty of holidays.

Both he and his wife Nicola soon celebrate their 60th birthdays and a trip to Nashville in the USA is a possibility.

The couple also love Majorca and Portugal. They have been thinking of moving abroad in the near future.  £1 million EuroMillions winners Bill and Cath Mulllarkey have since moved  from England to St Lucia.

His wife was shocked that they had won £166,666. That’s because 66 is so special to her. It’s on her car number plate and she couldn’t believe the number formed part of their Postcode Lottery windfall. One of her spending plans is to extend the gin collection she keeps in a living room cabinet.

How would she have felt if they hadn’t started playing again and then saw their neighbours win? “I don't think I could put into words what I would be saying."
