Record £8.4m People’s Postcode Lottery Win

The largest ever People’s Postcode Lottery prizes have been won. A total of £8.4 million was won by 500 neighbours in Rochester. The Kent residents are now getting ready for their best Christmas ever.

The wins came in the December Postcode Millions draw held on December 17. The lucky postcode as ME3 7QL with nine lucky players each winning £342,375. Another resident had two tickets and won a fantastic £684,750.

Paul and Alison both won £342,375 in the People’s Postcode Lottery draw. Taxi driver Paul said that their win will be used to help their children. “This secures us for the rest of our lives really,” said the delighted winner.

His wife (who owns a day nursery) is looking forward to a “lovely Christmas.” Their son, two daughters and five grandchildren will all get an extra gift. Alison will treat herself to a Louis Vuitton handbag.

A trip down under

Marion and her partner Allen won £342,375. The winnings will be put to good use but not just yet. Their eldest son lives in Australia, and they haven’t seen him in nearly three years. When travel down under is allowed again, they’ll travel first class to see him. The win came as a big shock to Marion who said “I still can’t get over it. I think I need a stiff drink!”

Her husband recently bought her a silver ring for Christmas. “We might need to up the ante a bit and upgrade to white gold,” she joked.

On a more serious note, news of her People’s Postcode Lottery win came shortly before attending a memorial service for her brother who died in August. When she heard of the People’s Postcode Lottery, she admits “I thought, ‘Thank you, Murray.’”

Weak at the knees

Simon was another of the People’s Postcode Lottery winners and totally shocked by the win. “Oh my gosh! Have you got a medic handy? I've just gone weak at the knees. That is fantastic. We can help a few people with that. I'm speechless, lost for words!"
