Record EuroMillions Jackpot Won by Swiss Ticket
Record EuroMillions Jackpot Won by Swiss Ticket
A ticket sold in Switzerland won the €210 million (CHF230.223 million) EuroMillions jackpot on Friday. The win is a record breaking one in more than one way. No one has come forward yet to claim this amazing prize.
Three weeks ago, on February 5, a EuroMillions Superdraw was held. No ticket was able to match the five numbers and two Lucky Stars to land the £114 million jackpot. That trend continued for the five draws that followed before finally the jackpot was won on Friday. The winning numbers were 06-12-22-29-33 and the two Lucky Stars 06 and 11.
History is Made
The win is the largest ever in the history of the EuroMillions lottery following jackpot cap rules changes last year. Last December a ticket sold in France won a record €200 million.
That record hasn’t lasted long and that’s again down to the new rules. The jackpot cap rose by €10 million to €210 million. That’s £180 million and whoever has won this jackpot is the new record holder. However, that record might not last too long. The jackpot cap now rises again to €220 million.
Another record broken is the largest ever jackpot in European lottery history. The previous highest win was in Italy’s SuperEnalotto draw. That was a €209 million win in 2019 and it took over a year of rollovers for that to be won. The jackpot for tonight’s SuperEnalotto draw is €113.9 million, that’s now the largest current jackpot, so buy some tickets today from Lottery24.
First Swiss Win in Three Years
This is the first time since 2018 that a ticket sold in Switzerland has won a EuroMillions jackpot. On that occasion, it was another big win with €162 million (CHF183,897,039.30) won. 23 tickets sold in Switzerland have won EuroMillions jackpots, the first in 2005.
Also celebrating were 12 tickets that won the second-tier prize. Three were sold in the UK, each winning £1,927,121.30. There were three winners in France, two each in Spain and Austria and one each in Portugal and Belgium, all winning €2,494,703.80. The jackpot returns to £14 million on Tuesday 2 March, will you be the next big winner?
