£7.5 million UK Lotto Winner Still Busy Unblocking Drains
Unblocking drains is not the most enjoyable task, especially when it’s freezing cold. However, that’s what James Clarkson from Carlisle,in England did earlier this month. All a bit surprising seeing that he’d won a £7.5 million UK Lotto jackpot on January 4.
The 20-year-old trainee gas engineer from Cumbria still lives with his parents. It’s certainly been a lucky time for him. Christmas Day saw him win a £120 lottery prize. That led to him buying more lottery tickets and one of them won him his UK Lotto jackpot.
Unbelieving girlfriend
James found out about his win at 7.30am. He woke up his girlfriend but she didn’t believe his incredible news and went back to sleep.
He told his parents the news and his father asked him to come home and he’d take a look at his ticket. The lucky player was sitting on the edge of his parent’s bed when phoning the National Lottery and they confirmed he’d won £7,533,329. Later that day he had a roast beef dinner and champagne at his grandparents.
The next day he was back unblocking drains. He says he’s too young to retire and will qualify as a heating engineer. That’s on the orders of his father who won’t let him quit.
A man from Melbourne, Australia went to work the same day he found out he’d won a $15 million Oz Lotto prize.
“I know people might think I'm mad to still work but I want to and, of course, there'll be some nice holidays in-between,” said the delighted UK Lotto winner.
Designer treats
He’s already starting spending his UK Lotto winnings with some designer treats. That includes a Gucci bag for his girlfriend who definitely believes him now. He’s also booked an all-inclusive holiday to Cape Verde.
His next big purchase is likely to be a new Audi. Being a big fan of Manchester City FC, he’s also looking forward to buying a season ticket. He wants to help his family though and will be paying off his parent’s mortgage.
