£46.2m Win Adds to UK EuroMillions Successes
The other two EuroMillions jackpot winning tickets were sold in Switzerland and France. Each won £46.2 million/€53 million. The lucky UK winner has already claimed their great prize.
It’s the latest UK success after an 11-strong syndicate of garage workers from Montrose, Scotland won £1 million in February.
Just £2.80?
The EuroMillions winners finally spoke to the press last week. Lesley Forsyth - who is the wife of Arthur, the syndicate leader - recalled how they discovered their win at 4am. Arthur saw on his phone an email saying there was news about his EuroMillions ticket. He wasn’t over-excited when finding out they’d won £2.80.
However, there was another congratulatory email and this time the discovery of their £1 million win was made. ‘Oh my goodness,” exclaimed the syndicate leader but his wife replied, “It’s bound to be a scam.”
Just everything
Lesley couldn’t have been more wrong and the syndicate really had won a £1 million EuroMillions prize. The 56-year-old has been part of the syndicate for 23 years. Their share of the winnings has already been put to good use. Their motorhome has been upgraded, garden makeover being done and holidays planned. “Just everything,” the EuroMillions winner joked.
Another of the winners is Cheryl Milne who is the office manager at the garage. She was one of the first fellow syndicate members that Lesley and Arthur contacted. Cheryl received a call asking her to come and see them.
The office manager thought it was work-related but was then told “it was a very good day” and news of the £1 million win was revealed. Cheryl now plans on renovating her bathroom and spare room. Each of the syndicate winners received just over £90,000.
