£400,000 Postcode Win for Lucky Grandmother
It’s not been the easiest of years for Brenda from Chorley in Lancashire, England Her luck has changed though with a £400,000 Postcode Lottery win.
The grandmother has had several health problems since 2017 including a broken back and a stroke. The latter left her struggling to move or talk and the past six months have been spent recovering from that.
Now comes this fantastic Postcode Lottery win. It could have just been £200,000 but with two tickets, her win was doubled to £400,000.
It’s great news for Brenda and her husband of 53 years, Dennis. The couple have been married since she was 19. Speaking about her win, the shocked player said: “It's like a dream come true. I never expected anything like this."
Off to Tenerife
Brenda is hoping to get the all-clear from the hospital after Christmas. With this Postcode Lottery win, a well-deserved holiday is on the way. “We usually go to Tenerife because I'm happy there and that's where we like going.” It’ll be longer than the usual two weeks and a cruise is also likely.
A “weekend away in a nice hotel” with their two sons and five grandchildren” is also being planned.
The win also means they won’t have to sell their home but do plan to also buy a bungalow. Her husband is a keen Manchester United fan and wants to buy some memorabilia and a 2023-24 season ticket.
New car
Winning a £200,000 Postcode Lottery prize was Paul. The father-of-three is looking at buying a beer first and then a new car. He hates his present vehicle but will stick with a Ford Monteo when buying its replacement.
When hearing his ticket had won, he thought it was only £30,000. Then he discovered it was far more than that and had won a “ridiculous” amount.
Plans for his Postcode Lottery win include treating his parents to a holiday. He also loves his pet greyhound and wants to make a donation to a charity that looks after that breed of dog.
