£333,333 Postcode Lottery Win Cheers up Hospitalised Barry
It’s not enjoyable being stuck in a hospital bed. That was the feeling Barry from Tonypandy in Wales was experiencing. Then came some news to cheer him up. He’d won a £333,333 Postcode Lottery prize.
The perfect medicine
Barry is used to the hospital as he works there as a porter. He was taken ill though and was in bed when told the fantastic news. “You can’t beat medicine like that,” he joked.
Thinking about how he and his partner Tracey will spend their Postcode Lottery prize isn’t easy for him due to the strong medication he’s on. One thing is certain though: “We’ll sort family and friends out.”
There were plenty of tears being shed by Tracey (who also works in the hospital) and her initial reaction to the news was “Are you serious?” A new car is on her spending list.
Winnings shared
Also winning a £333,333 Postcode Lottery windfall was great-grandmother Thelma. It was four years ago when she decided to start playing. Her two daughters and one of their sister-in-laws were regular players. The four decided to share any Postcode Lottery wins and that’s just what they will be doing now. Each player will receive £83,333.
Thelma had been thinking about not playing anymore. Thankfully she didn’t do so and is now planning to go on holiday. Who will she go with though? “I haven’t got a man to go with me and I don’t want to go on my own,” she joked.
Off to Brazil
The other £333,333 Postcode Lottery is retired council housing manager Frederick. He plans to use some of his winnings to assist his grandchildren and great-grandson.
Also planned is a trip to Brazil which is one of his favourite holiday destinations. The former male voice choir singer said that he was excited at the news of his Postcode Lottery win. At the same time he’s a bit “apprehensive” and his win doesn’t quite feel real. He’s looking forward to returning to Brazil. A new car is also on his spending list.
