£177 million EuroMillions Jackpot Won by UK ticket

A ticket sold in the UK won the £177 million EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday evening. Meanwhile in the US, Friday’s Mega Millions draw will have a $514 million jackpot.

The £177 million EuroMillions win is the third largest amount won by a ticket sold in the UK. Andy Carter is the senior winners’ adviser for Allwyn who run the National Lottery. He said it was a “wonderful win right before Christmas.”  The lucky winner has yet to come forward and Mr Carter urged players to check their tickets.

The highest UK EuroMillions win came in July 2022 when an anonymous player won a £195.7 million jackpot. That win came two months after  Jess and Joe Thwaite from Gloucester, England had won a £184.2 million EuroMillions jackpot.

The winning numbers in Tuesday’s draw were: 07-11-25-31-40 and the two Lucky Stars 09 and 12. It’s the first time the EuroMillions jackpot win since October 4.

15 tickets managed to match all the main numbers but just one of the Lucky Stars. Four of those  were sold in the UK, each winning £53,642.70. Of the other 11 winners of the second-tier prize, three were sold in Spain and four in France and won €73,659.10 each.

This was an important win for the UK. They have now sold 130 EuroMillions jackpot winning tickets and that takes them ahead of France on 129. There have been four UK EuroMillions jackpot wins this year.

November 26 is certainly a lucky day to play in the EuroMillions draw. This is the fifth time that the jackpot has been won on this date. The other wins came in 2004, 2010, 2013 and 2021. Friday’s draw will have a £15 million jackpot.

Mega Millions jackpot rises again

Meanwhile in the US, Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw had a $489 million jackpot. Again, the draw ended in a rollover.  The next draw will take place on Friday and the top prize will be $514 million.  Will the month end with another big win?
