£1,700 National Lottery Win Was Really £1 million 

Toni Henderson from County Durham in England was delighted when winning £1,700 but her April 27 National Lottery win turned out to be £1 million.

The 32-year-old won her windfall on a lucky dip ticket.  Toni works as an admin assistant and has a son. When checking her ticket, she believed her win was just £1,700 for matching five numbers.

That left her “buzzing” as it was “extra money I didn’t have.” However, when she went online to check her account and discovered she’d actually won £1 million.

Shaking

“I sat there counting the zeros, shaking in bed, whilst my son was still asleep,” recalled the National Lottery winner. Unable to contact her mother by phone, she and her son went to see her in person.

The pair suddenly turning up unannounced worried her mother who was just starting her Sunday lunch. She was “visibly concerned” and kept asking what was wrong.

Her daughter asked her to sit down before revealing she’d won a £1 million National Lottery prize.

For the rest of the day the lucky winner says she was “on autopilot” and “didn’t sleep a wink that night.”

Plans for her National Lottery win include buying a family home. There’ll also be a trip to Disney World Florida with her son. A new car has already been purchased. David Lawrence from Leatherhead in England  also won a £1 million National Lottery prize.

Good role model

Toni won’t be giving up her job as she wants to be a “good role model.” That will allow her son to “learn the value of working hard.” The National Lottery winner added that she’s been working since the age of 17 and would be “bored and lost” if not working.

The winner says the £1 million makes her feel “a lot more  independent” and give her son “the start he deserves.” Toni says she isn’t a greedy person and has already helped some family members.  “No amount of money can repay them for all they have done for me,” said the generous winner.
