£108,811 EuroMillions Winners Want New Downstairs Toilet
What would you buy if winning a major lottery prize? Gary and Michelle Street from Newbury in England, won £108,811 in the February 4 EuroMillions draw. They want to spend some of their winnings on a new downstairs toilet and kitchen.
Gary, 47, is a product manager and his wife, Michelle, 45, is a nurse. Gary said that for 12 years they have wanted to extend their kitchen. However, “there’s never been quite enough money in the pot to start work.”
Whopping dose of luck
The work can finally go ahead after this “whopping dose of luck” and builders have already been around to measure up the kitchen. His wife joked, “It’s not everyone that celebrates an amazing win like this by planning a new downstairs loo, but I can honestly say, I’m over the moon!”
The couple have a direct debit set up to ensure their EuroMillions tickets are always purchased. On this occasion though it was a EuroMillions Superdraw with a £109 million jackpot. Gary decided to buy some extra Lucky Dip lines, hoping to become a multi-millionaire.
They matched all five of the main balls (03-25-38-43-49) but only one of the Lucky Stars. Another UK ticket did manage to land the £109 million jackpot.
Early morning surprise
Gary was in bed the morning after the EuroMillions draw when he found out they’d won £108,811. He didn’t have his reading glasses on so was “squinting at the phone.” He then checked his emails and they informed him of three wins.
Checking his National Lottery account and that’s when the EuroMillions win was confirmed. He woke up his wife and told her to look at his phone. The couple also plan to pay off their mortgage. Gary added: “It will mean that the pennies we kept trying to put aside for the extension can be reallocated and some of that reallocation will be for fun times ahead.
Michelle is not planning to stop working but said: “We can enjoy some treats – not to mention our new downstairs loo!” Friday’s EuroMillions draw has a £65 million jackpot.
