£1 million Postcode Lottery Success for Cheshire Cousins

Two cousins who are also next door neighbours have won £1 million playing the Postcode Lottery. A great result for the winners from Little Neston in Cheshire, England considering their houses are the only two in their road.

47 years ago, Margaret and her cousin Joyce were given some land by their grandfather. They decided to build a couple of semi-detached houses on the land. They were asked by the local council to name their street and were given their own postcode.  Never did they imagine that it would change their lives thanks to this big Postcode Lottery win.

Never imagined

Margaret is married to Harry and both had Postcode Lottery tickets. That’s given them a double win and a total amount received of £666,666. Her husband was totally shocked when receiving the winning cheques. He only thought they’d won £50,000 and “never imagined” it would be so high.

The couple are planning to  use some of their winnings to go on a family holiday. They’ll be taking their two daughters and four grandchildren with them.

My legs just gave away

Joyce nearly fainted when finding out she’d won a £333,333 Postcode Lottery prize. Thankfully presenter Matt Johnson was there to hold her up. “My legs just gave away,” said the shocked winner.

Since learning of her win, Joyce’s mind has been thinking of her late husband Peter who died 12 years ago. His widow just wishes he was still around to share this big win. A cruise on the Norwegian fjords is planned.

The winners haven’t been in the best of health themselves in recent years. Harry had to have open heart surgery three years ago. After his surgery, he decided to start  playing the Postcode Lottery  and won £1,000 in 2021. After that Margaret and Joyce decided to start playing too.

His wife hasn’t been well either and has been battling breast cancer but has now been given the all-clear. Joyce has had to recover from a stroke 20 years ago and at one stage couldn’t talk.
