£1 Million EuroMillions Winner Has Perfect End to 2024
Andy Hornsby from Redcar in Yorkshire, England isn’t a regular EuroMillions player. He entered the New Year’s Eve draw and won £1 million.
It was just ten minutes to the new year when the 56-year-old felt he needed to check that evening’s EuroMillions results. While everyone was waiting for Big Ben to chime and bring in 2025, Andy was celebrating becoming a millionaire.
The NHS worker quickly told other people in the house his amazing news. The cheering began and when his partner Mandy heard it, she thought midnight had been missed. Then the lucky winner told her: “I think we’re millionaires.” Her reply was, “don’t be stupid!”
The couple kept checking and rechecking their EuroMillions ticket. That seemed to be a lot more important than wishing anyone Happy New Year. Andy said: “I’ll admit I’ve had some memorable New Year Eves, but nothing comes close to this.”
Lucky shamrock
His EuroMillions ticket had been put under a lucky shamrock stone that is kept on their mantlepiece. The delighted player joked: “I think we can all agree that Lady Luck was smiling on me that day.”
May 2025 will see the couple get married.and also a new home is on its way.. Mandy is going to quit working weekend shifts so she and Andy can have more weekends away but Andy loves his job and will continue working.
That will be in their brand new campervan. A £110,340.60 EuroMillions winner bought a caravan after their success.
This couple also want to go on some cruises, possibly to Italy. That’s a special country for them as the last time they went to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Andy proposed to Mandy.
