Powerball Jackpot Won but Still no Mega Millions Winner

It’s already been a big week for lottery players. Monday saw a $214 million Powerball jackpot won. Hopefully more will follow in the next few days.

Pennsylvania success

It was a ticket sold in Pennsylvania, USA, that won the top prize in Monday’s Powerball draw. That was the first time the jackpot had been won since July 3. The cash option for the jackpot is $104 million.

It’s the 20th time a ticket sold in Pennsylvania has won a Powerball jackpot. This one came two years after the last success when a $204 million top prize was won. Tonight’s draw has a $20 million top prize.

No Mega Millions winner

The Mega Millions jackpot keeps on rising. Tuesday’s draw failed to produce a winner. That means on Friday, the top prize will be a fantastic $464 million.

Only twice this year has the Mega Millions jackpot been won. We had to wait until March for the first winner of 2024. That saw a ticket sold in New Jersey win $1.128 billion. The most recent jackpot win was in June when  $552 million was won by a Mega Millions ticket that had been purchased in Illinois.

In 2023, the Mega Millions jackpot had been won seven times by August 14. Another win came along the following day. Will a ticket bought from Lottery24 become the next Mega Millions jackpot winner?
