Player Discovers $5 million Mega Millions Win in Middle of Night
Tonight’s Mega Millions draw has a $541 million jackpot (cash option $257.6 million). The top prize hasn’t been won since September 10. On that occasion, a ticket purchased in Texas won the $810 million jackpot.
Only once since 2019 has the Mega Millions jackpot been won in December. That was last year when two Mega Millions tickets sold at the same store in California shared a $394 million top prize. Here’s news of two players already celebrating Mega Millions wins in recent months.
Late night surprise
Tyrone Ferguson from Michigan, USA woke up during the night and received a massive but very welcome shock. He checked his Mega Millions ticket and found out he’d won $5 million.
His win came in the September 24 draw and his selection was one he’d been playing for a long time. He regularly plays the Mega Millions draw and says his numbers “are made up of special dates.”
The lucky player hadn’t checked the results of the Mega Millions draw. When he woke up during the night, he decided to do so. “I said a prayer and then looked up the winning numbers,” he recalled. He recognized them immediately and says “winning is unbelievable” adding he feels “humbled and grateful.”
Also celebrating a big Mega Millions win is a truck driver from Maryland, USA. He won $1 million in the draw held on October 15.
Although he plays several lottery games, he never misses the Mega Millions draw. He was checking his lottery tickets but then something disturbed him and he didn’t check the Mega Millions ticket.
Is something wrong?
The next morning he told a family member that he was going to throw his tickets away. She offered to check them before he did so. He drove away but saw her chasing his car waving her arms. Was something wrong? “I knew it was good news. She had such a smile.” he recalled and was told of his $1 million win. He now plans on buying a new home and a car.
