ONTARIO MAN WINS $9 MILLION LOTTO 649 JACKPOT
A man from London, Ontario in Canada has won $9 million on the Lotto 649 and says he’s slightly overwhelmed.A Mega Millions winner from Michigan also described himself as overwhelmed after his $1 million win, and Daniel Dawson, who is 48 years old, won his $9 million on the national Lotto 649 after playing the same numbers for several years, but says he’s overwhelmed after finally winning the jackpot. “I enjoy playing Lotto 649,” Mr Dawson told OLG lottery officials in Toronto. “I have been playing the same numbers for years – and I finally won!”The Lotto 649 winner is a municipal worker for the city of London, Ontario, and told lottery officials that he checked his ticket himself using a self-serve ticket checker. “I brought my ticket to the cashier, who confirmed it was a winning ticket and we were both blown away,” the lottery winner recalled, adding: “Even when OLG called to confirm my win, I still couldn’t believe it.” A couple also from London recently took home a huge $5 million prize on the Lotto 649, while another pair from the city scooped a life-changing prize when they won on the Canadian Dream Lottery.As soon as he’d come around to the idea that he was a $9 million Lotto 649 winner, Mr Dawson said that he called his girlfriend to share the big news. A Scotsman who won £250,000 on a National Lottery scratch card also called his girlfriend as soon as he found out about his win.“I don’t know what I am going to do for myself yet,” he told lottery officials when asked about his plans for his millions. “I still need time to process it,” he added, before saying that he will be sharing part of his $9 million prize winnings with his sister.
