“Odd” Ticket Wins $54 million Lotto 6/49 Jackpot

With just three days of 2024 remaining, Sandra and Travis Fredland became multi-millionaires. The couple from Alberta in Canada won a $54 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

The winners have now claimed their prize and been speaking about their fantastic Lotto 6/49 windfall.

Merel Chasson from Canada won a $64 million Lotto 6/49 prize  but didn’t claim it until 19 days before its expiry date.

Mr Fredland recalled how he checked his ticket using a lottery terminal. He admits that believing what he was seeing wasn’t easy. He’s been a regular lottery player for many years but never had anything like such a big win as this.

Canadian Denis Hobbs  played the same numbers for 30 years before his $5 million Lotto 6/49 win.

Three times

“I must have checked the ticket about three times,” said the shocked winner. Needing some confirmation of his win, he took the Lotto 6/49 ticket and asked for it to be checked.

He was worried at this stage that there was “something odd with it.” Well, it was a bit ‘odd’ because there aren’t many that win their owners $54 million.

The couple have already started making plans on how to spend their $54 million Lotto 6/49 win. Sandra says that while winning such a large amount has changed their lives, it can be an overwhelming experience. They will therefore take “some time” to decide just what will happen next.

Lay low

However, they have had a couple of ideas. After this big win, their working days are now over. 
With that happening, they will have more time to go travelling. One planned destination for the couple is Palm Springs. It won’t just be a great holiday for them, It will give them some time to “lay low and enjoy the win,” said Mr Fredland.

Their sons have been  “thrilled” with the news that their parents are now multi-millionaire lottery winners.

Their winning Lotto 6/49 ticket had been bought from the Westgate New Horizon Co-op in Grande Prairie.
