October Irish Lotto Jackpot Wins Remain Unclaimed

October has been a big month for the Irish Lotto. There have already been two jackpot wins but neither of the winners have come forward to claim their prizes.

The month got off to a great start with a ticket sold in Co Meath winning a  €8,915,056 Irish Lotto jackpot. While we don’t know who has won that prize, the shop where the winning ticket was sold has been revealed.

It was Lowthe’s Londis in Duleek, Co Meath where the winning Irish Lotto ticket was purchased. It's owned by Seamus Lowthe who admits he was “completely shocked” when receiving the news.

What did he do first? Well, he checked his own Irish Lotto ticket as he’d bought a ticket for the October 1 draw but he’s not the mystery winner.

Complete magic

Talking about the jackpot win, he said: “We’re a local family run store, open 38 years and selling the Lotto 30 years and this is our first ever big win. It’s complete magic for us.” The store owner added: “Everyone will be wondering who won.”

That win was the eighth Irish Lotto jackpot win of the year. We didn’t have long to wait for the ninth. The draw held on October 12 produced a  €2,310,972 jackpot win. This time the shop that sold the winning ticket was the XL on The Rise in Mount Merrion, Dublin. Again, the win is yet to be claimed.

Bittersweet feeling

Store owner Adrian Peters said it was a “bittersweet” feeling as he wasn’t the Irish Lotto jackpot winner. That was never going to be the case though. He’d forgotten to buy a ticket for the draw from his own shop and had got one from a local petrol station.

He said that “it was great to get the phone call that we’d sold the winning ticket. In these current times, it’s nice to get a bit of positive news.” He added: “I do wish the winner all the best and I do hope it’s one of our local, loyal customers.”
