The delighted player regularly tries her luck on lottery games. The past two years have seen her use the same numbers and they have finally paid off with this big win.
In total, the Queensland Set for Life winner will receive her $4.8 million as $20,000 a month for 20 years. No wonder she described her win as “unbelievable” and “amazing.”
Plans for her winnings include buying a house “that I can call my own” and “be with family.” Will she continue to work? A decision hasn’t been made yet but she said: “I’ll certainly be taking a week off to go on a holiday!” A man from Sydney is continuing to work even after his $13.33 million Oz Lotto jackpot win.
Talking to The Lott, the Set for Life winner said: “I can’t even think right now. I’m still in shock.”
The results of the draw hadn’t been checked by her but her ticket was registered. That meant the lottery company knew who the Set for Life jackpot winner was.
The unknowing winner had gone to work and while there, she saw some missed calls on her phone and “some strange text messages.”
They suggested she check her lottery ticket and a big shock was on its way. Immediately after discovering her great fortune, she said to her boss “I have to go!”
When returning home, she began to tell her family about the Set for Life win. “Mum had the shakes,” she said. Then she joked: “I think it’s safe to say I’m the favourite daughter now.”
Then she revealed that two years ago, she began playing with a QuickPick.” Since then “I’ve always just replayed them,” she said. “What a great choice,” she added and that’s an understatement if ever there was one.
