No retirement plans for $685,000 TattsLotto Winner
Winning a big lottery prize can be quite a shock. A patient man from Traralgon in Victoria, Australia, is still trying to come to terms with his $685,000 Tatts Lotto win on February 18,
The long-term player admits that he never thought he’d ever win a TattsLotto jackpot. That’s what happened earlier this month though. His ticket was one of eight division one winners in the draw. In total, he won $685,236.47.
His ticket was not registered so that meant it was not possible for The Lott to contact the lucky player. The Traralgon resident had in the meantime seen a sign in the Traralgon Newsagency and Lotto store that said a TattsLotto jackpot winning ticket had been sold there.
It’s probably not me
That was where he’d purchased his ticket but simply never thought for a moment that he was the big winner.” Indeed he was though but the TattsLotto winner admits that “it takes a while for something like this to sink in.”
“Goodness me!” was his reaction when told how much his TattsLotto ticket had won. It was all a bit of a shock though and the winner (who has asked to remain anonymous) said he was “stunned” and just sitting down thinking “oh my god! What the hell?’”
No plans to retire
Despite his TattsLotto success, the lucky player is not planning to retire. “I can still work and I want to work” is his reason. He added that his windfall means “It’s just nice to think that retirement will be a lot easier when it eventually happens.
His family will also be benefiting from his TattsLotto win. At the time he spoke to The Lott, they had no idea of the amazing luck they’d just had. More shocks were on the way then.
The Traralgon News and Lotto manager Corey Davenport and he’s “absolutely thrilled” at the news. It’s obviously a lucky place to buy tickets as he said this is their 50th major winner. That includes a $1.2 million TattsLotto win in June 2020.
