No Major Changes for $50 million Lotto 649 Winners
Mohamed Karim Mamlouk and Insaf Bach Werdiane from Quebec City, Canada are celebrating a $50 million Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball win.
Speaking about their fantastic success in the August 28 draw, Mamlouk said that “there is a lot of joy.” Such a win is life-changing of course but he insists that becoming multi-millionaires “won’t change” who they are.
He was on his way to work when deciding to see if their Lotto 6/49 ticket had won anything. Mamlouk and Werdiane buy lottery tickets together on a regular basis. When he saw the numbers that had been drawn out, he knew that they had won the jackpot.
Big shock
It was already a big day for him as the income tax worker was given some important tasks to perform at work. Immediately he tried to contact his wife but she was at work and didn’t answer his calls right away. When she eventually returned her husband’s calls she was shocked to learn of their $50 million Lotto 6/49 success.
Not that she initially believed what her husband was telling her and she carried on with her work.
In 2020, Guylaine Desjardins won a $6 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot and was presented with her prize by a life-size robot.
Even though they have won $50 million, Mamlouk says that he won’t be quitting his job. “I already told my boss I don’t want to change anything in my life. I’m happy,” said the Lotto 6/49 winner.
No crazy dreams
They now plan to spend some time working out just how to spend their windfall. “We don’t have crazy dreams to spend. We’re fairly calm in our spending.”
At present they are renting their home so buying one of their own is definitely planned. The couple’s children are teenagers and as a result of that, a larger home is desired.
Will they move to another area though? That looks unlikely as Mamlouk has declared his love for Quebec City. When a new home is purchased, that’s where it will be situated.
