No Big changes Planned for NIS 40 Million Lottery Jackpot Winner

Deciding just how to spend a massive lottery win isn’t easy at all. That’s the situation facing an Israeli man who has won a NIS 40 million (£10.3 million) jackpot in the Mifal HaPais lottery on August 8.

There had been 20 draws without a win before the 35-year-old from Central Israel landed the jackpot.. It took him an entire week to collect his lottery winnings. Well, he has had a lot to think about after all.

Speaking about his win, he said: “It's still all very fresh in the mind. I need time to sit with myself and think about what's next,"  He then recalled that magical moment when his lottery win was discovered.

No expectations

He’s a regular buyer of lottery tickets but had “no expectations of any earning” from his latest purchase. How wrong could he be! His ticket had won the jackpot and that left him speechless for a few hours when finding out just how much he’d won.

It was late in the evening when his amazing discovery was made. He struggled to contain his excitement but because of the time he had no one to call. This lottery jackpot winner may be delighted but he was also considerate and “didn’t want to wake anyone up.”

As you might expect, he had a sleepless night. Despite that and being a lottery millionaire, he still got up and went to work.

His week was then spent contemplating just what to do with his lottery winnings. “I don’t have any plans or fantasies on what I will do with the money,” he said.

Why move out of my flat?

There’ll be no new home for this lottery winner. He loves his rented apartment so he said “I do not see a reason to immediately invest in property.”

Nor has he decided whether to quit his job in the auction business as he loves that too. “At the moment, I continue my life as it was and do not let winning affect me,” he declared.
