NEW SOUTH WALES GRANDFATHER CLAIMS $3 MILLION AUSTRALIAN POWERBALL JACKPOT

A grandfather from Camden in New South Wales, Australia, has claimed a $3 million prize on the Australian Powerball, and is the envy of his local town. The lucky winner, who chose to remain anonymous after he claimed his winnings from Powerball officials, told lottery officials that he didn’t realise he was a winner until seven days after the February 9th drawing, when he found the ticket in his wallet. The Camden man’s Australian Powerball ticket was one of two first division winners in the early February drawing, winning him $3 million. Earlier this year a New South Wales syndicate shared $2 million on the Oz Lotto. The Powerball winner admitted that he is a generous family man and will celebrate his good fortune together with his closest family and friends, and he’ll share a good proportion of it as well. A Michigan woman was celebrating with friends and family after winning $200,000 on the Keno Lottery. The grandfather said that when he found out about his multi-million-dollar win, he was shocked, excited, and emotional all at the same time, saying that the news was life-changing. A EuroMillions winner from England also left his ticket in his wallet, finding it a month after the drawing which made him a millionaire.“Well, what do I say, I’m pretty teary, yeah. We’re a bit excited,” the Australian Powerball winner said, continuing to say that his wife buys registered tickets for the Australian Powerball, so that she receives a call from the lottery if she wins anything, but that occasionally he likes to go out and buy a few tickets himself, leaving them in his wallet. “And sometimes they remain there for some time,” he admitted, adding: “I thought I had a chance of winning like everybody else but it’s still a shock.” A recent Iowa Lottery scratch card winner said that he was lost for words when he found out about his big win.The Australian Powerball winner purchased his ticket from Camden Newsagency, and chose a Quick Pick number selection. The family man plans to celebrate with his large family and said that he and his wife will take their time to consider how to spend the jackpot: “we’ll have to have a think about what we’ll do with the prize – probably share it with the kids,” he said. Just last week a New Zealand Powerball winner revealed he’d given away half of his $20 million jackpot to family less than a week after winning. What will you do with your lottery windfall?
