New Homes, Cruises and Slippers for Postcode Lottery Winners

£3.7 million was shared by hundreds of residents in the Welsh town of Rhymney in the May 28 Postcode Millions draw. The luckiest People’s Postcode Lottery winners were from Pen-Y-Dre with one player winning £370,000.

That huge amount was won by 76-year-old Ted who plays with two tickets, hence his £370,000 windfall. He’s a retired steelworker and couldn’t believe his luck. “You never expect to win this amount of money,” said the “elated” winner. His winning postcode was NP22 5DL.

World cruise planned

He now plans on using his People’s Postcode Lottery win to go on a world cruise. A new 4x4 car is also on his spending list as he’s always wanted a Jaguar.

Their father said he couldn’t wait to tell them his news. “I don’t think they’ll believe me when I tell them how much I’ve won,” said the People’s Postcode Lottery winner. Perhaps another big win could happen in the future? Ted says he will keep playing the draw.

One of the £185,000 winners is Lisa who works in a chocolate factory. Her family say that she’s sensible with money but now she’s planning a trip to the Maldives thanks to her People’s Postcode Lottery win.

No win for Cherry

Her mother was with her when the cheque was presented but must have been slightly disappointed. Cherry only lives across the road, but she doesn’t play the People’s Postcode Lottery so had no winnings to celebrate. Her daughter joked “I bet she will now.”

Lewis and his partner Rose were also £185,000 winners. He’s lived in the road for 34 years but is now planning to move away. For the past couple of years, the couple have considered buying a bungalow. “Now I definitely think we’ll take the plunge and go for it,” said the People’s Postcode Lottery winner.

Gladys is also celebrating a £185,000 win and is planning a holiday in Benidorm. Top of her spending list though is being able to buy a new pair of slippers and celebrating her husband’s 75^th birthday.
