New Home for £55,555 Postcode Lottery Winner

17 residents from Dukinfield in Greater Manchester, England, are celebrating a Postcode Lottery win. For one of the lucky players the windfall will greatly improve the life of her severely disabled daughter.

Nichola won £55,555 thanks to her postcode being chosen. Her 13-year-old daughter Ava has a rare genetic condition that affects her mobility.  Their current home isn’t suitable for Ava and planning permission for home improvements had been turned down.

Now this Postcode Lottery win will help her move to a more suitable home. That will see Ava having her own bedroom with a dressing table. Her mother says that’s just what every girl of her age wants. The Postcode Lottery winner added that the win has given her family “a bit of hope and a little bit of happiness.”

Other plans include paying for some driving lessons for her son James. A trip to Spain is also on her spending list.

Off to the Grand Canyon

With two tickets purchased, Pam has doubled her winnings to a total of £111,110. The retired library assistant wants to go to the USA with her sister Christine. Once there, they’ll visit the Grand Canyon and then spend some time on a ranch.

That’ll be perfect for Pam who owns four horses. All of them will get a treat from their lucky owner. It’s not all about horses though and the Postcode Lottery winner joked: "My daughter Jennifer is already putting her order in for what to spend it on, too."

Route 66, here we come

Also off to America are husband and wife Michael and Barbara. They celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in October and want to do America’s Route 66. It’s something they’ve wanted to do for a while.

It’s proved too costly in the past but Michael commented: “Now, we’ve got lots of money.” Their £55,555 Postcode Lottery win will also be used to buy “a big fancy American convertible.”

Barbara has her eyes on a couple of Michael Kors handbags. “One for shopping and one for show,” she joked.
