National Lottery funding for social sector charity foundation to expand across the UK
A social sector charity receives new lottery funding to support young people. The charity helps people to develop skills and experience to further their careers.

Rank Foundation has received lottery funding worth £3.3 million from the National Lottery Community Fund.The grant will support the expansion of its ‘

Time to Shine is a project developed for people experience underemployment. They provide paid work opportunities within the charity sector while addressing skills and knowledge gaps.
More reach across the UK
The lottery funding will enable the programme to develop across the whole of the UK.This means more individuals and organisations will be eligible for the programme. It will also be better tailored to specific business development challenges.“The Rank Foundation and the National Lottery Community Fund share a passion for bringing new talent and skills into the social sector,” said Caroline Broadhurst, Deputy CEO of the Rank Foundation.She added that the work they are now able to do will future-proof the role of small and medium-sized charities.
Second round of funding for charity
Time to Shine was first supported by the National Lottery in 2016. It was only helping people across Northern Ireland at the time. Since then, dozens of individuals have increased their leadership skills.One participant was placed in a Belfast charity and raised an incredible £800,000 during her year’s placement. She continues to work for the charity now, while also completing a master’s degree.“We are delighted that the National Lottery funding is continuing to support The Rank Foundation’s
