National Lottery funding for Isle of Wight communities

National Lottery funding is to help communities across the Isle of Wight. The local projects will start Spring off with a celebration thanks to a £30,000 cash injection.The money is distributed by the National Lottery Community Fund. It is raised by lottery players for good causes across the United Kingdom. Safe and fun activities for everyone

The Isle of Wight projects includes a music festival which received £10,000. One Life Music Festival began in 2018. It provides a safe and fun festival for people with learning and physical disabilities. The National Lottery charity boost will enable it to continue for another year.“We are able to put on a bigger and better music festival for people with learning and physical disabilities,” said one of the festival’s co-founders. He continued to say that the festival will be able to grow to a two-day event. “2019 will be even better.”Another project set for a perfect Spring start is the Island 2000 Trust. Their £10,000 will help set up a walking, cycling and horse-riding hub. An old station in Merstone will be used for shelter, cycle storage and barbeque facilities.

A new opportunity to enjoy Spring in the great outdoors

“The project is being greeted with excitement in the cycling community,” said the project manager. “We want more people to come and have a free and healthy day out in our countryside.”The National Lottery charity funding all aims to create a fantastic Spring for locals. National Lottery officials have made the most of local knowledge, ideas and passion. They said that residents are the best equipped to make the changes that they want to see.
