£300K National Lottery Success for Keyworkers

Two keyworkers from Sittingbourne in Kent, England have won £300,000 on a National Lottery Instant Win game.

The couple have had a busy time during the pandemic. Linda Priston works for the NHS, while her husband Stewart is an HGV driver. Now they have won £300,000 on the National Lottery Lucky Lines game and can’t wait to celebrate their upcoming 35th wedding anniversary in style.

Linda had spent her day looking after her house, while her husband was on a night shift and needed a bit of a rest. The 56-year-old then logged onto her National Lottery account and decided to play the Lucky Lines game. Little did she know that her life was about to change.

Time for some tea

The NHS worker was shocked when the £300K figure appeared on her screen. A telephone number also came up with which she could claim her prize, but she wasn’t convinced of her win. “I was sure there must be a mistake, so I put my iPad down, walked away and made myself a cup of tea instead!”

Her nerves were beginning to calm down, so she took another look at her National Lottery account just in case she had made a mistake. No error had been made though and £300,000 had been won.

Then she took a photo of the screen and sent it to her husband. No more tea for Linda though, this time it was a glass of wine. Linda also phoned her husband, but he didn’t totally believe her until coming home at 1am and checking her account.

Breaking the news

They didn’t tell anyone apart from their two sons of their National Lottery win for three days. Then the couple went to their local pub ad told the landlady and some close friends of their big win.

The couple are now counting the days until they can celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. That takes place next year and 57-year-old Stewart and his wife want to go on their dream holiday that will finally have them seeing the Northern Lights.
