Lucky Novice wins $50,000 Scratchcard Prize

 It was first time lucky for Nichole Balsoma from Glen Burnie in Maryland, USA. August saw her buy her first ever scratchcard and it won her $50,000.

Buying that debut scratchcard wasn’t intended at all when she went out that day. A morning coffee was what Nichole usually goes out and buys. This particular morning saw a change though as an energy drink was purchased instead.

Rather than going to a coffee shop, she went to a Royal Farms #016 instead. While there, she bought an energy drink and then she saw the scratchcards.

On a whim, a $20 Million Dollar Mega Multiplier instant ticket” was purchased. Surely her first ever scratchcard couldn’t be a winner? 

The Maryland mother scratched off the card while sitting in her car. Her fiancé was with her and a big shock was on the way. Nichole saw that the scratchcard matched the winning numbers on all of the first line and $50,000 had been won.

Disbelief

Both of them were shocked at what had just happened. They went to lottery headquarters to claim their great win. The first-time winner admitted that she still didn’t believe that her first ever scratchcard had been a big winner..

The Maryland Lottery has not surprisingly described the scratchcard winner as a “lucky novice.” Some players try their luck for years without getting a big win but for Nichole it was definitely first time lucky.

Not even a lottery player

The scratchcard winner admitted that she doesn’t even play the lottery. With luck like hers, perhaps she should go out and buy some tickets with her winnings.

Nichole, who has two young children who she looks after at home already knows how her winnings will be spent. A new house in which she can live with her partner and children is the dream purchase for her.
