Lottery Wins From Around the Globe
Lottery Wins From Around the Globe
It takes a lot of luck to win a big lottery prize. That’s just what happened for three players from the USA, Canada and Australia.
Christmas surprise
Did you like your Christmas presents? A woman from Maryland, USA, certainly did. A friend put an Ultimate Cash ticket in her stocking and it won her $100,000.
The winner says she only ever plays lottery games when given tickets. A woman from Kentucky, USA also got a big scratchcard win thanks to a gift.
At first she thought it might be a trick being played on her. It wasn’t and now the generous player says most of her winnings will be put into a savings account for her children.
Jaw dropping time
It’s bound to be a big shock when a big lottery win is discovered. That was the case for 80-year-old Alan Slote from Hamilton in Ontario, Canada. He says his “jaw dropped” when finding out he’d won a $1 million Lotto 6/49 prize on November 22.
He’s now claimed what he calls his “first big win” after 30 years of playing lottery games. He recalled the moment when he and his wife discovered their great slice of luck.
Plans for the $1 million win include sharing the winnings with their family. A new car will be purchased and charitable donations made.
Strong feeling
Do you ever get a strong feeling that a lottery win is on its way? A grandmother from Bella Visa in New South Wales, Australia did and won a $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize.
Her win came on January 2 and when told of her lottery win during a phone call, the shocked winner replied: “Are you serious? I’m in shock.”
The woman admitted that she only ever buys lottery tickets “when I get a strong feeling.” That’s what happened this time and she said to herself “‘Look, I think I need to buy a ticket’. Now look what has happened!”
Her winnings will be used to help her children and grandchildren. Her husband plans on finally buying a boat.
