Lottery Jackpots Won All Over the World
The past few days have seen some fantastic lottery wins. Will more be on the way this week? Perhaps even the SuperEnalotto jackpot might be won by a ticket sold at Lottery24.
Friday February 11 saw the South African national lottery jackpot of R167 million (£23.4 million) won. It’s the second highest win in the history of the South African national lottery. The highest was R232 million (£32.5 million) in February 2019.
Powerball jackpot won
Monday February 14 was already special. It was Valentine’s Day but also very lucky for lottery players.
In the USA, a ticket sold in Connecticut won a $185.3 million top prize. The lucky winner(s) are yet to come forward to claim their prize. The winning numbers were: 16-25-27-49-55 and the Powerball 17.
Whoever has won now has to decide whether to accept their jackpot win as an annuity or take the one-off cash payment of $123.9 million (subject then to tax). Tonight’s Powerball draw has a $20 million jackpot.
Also on Monday, the Power Lottery jackpot was won. A single ticket landed the NT$1.21 billion (£32 million) top prize. The win ended a run of 32 draws without a win, stretching back to last October.
Mystery EuroMillions winner
The biggest win in Europe this year came in the February 4 EuroMillions Superdraw. That saw a £109.9 million jackpot won by a ticket sold in the UK. Yesterday, the winner received their fantastic cheque. The lucky player has so far not had their identity revealed.
Andy Carter is the senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery. He said: “We're absolutely delighted that the winner of this amazing EuroMillions jackpot prize has come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.”
