Missouri couple win lottery jackpot just in time for their 10th wedding anniversary

A Missouri couple has won a lottery jackpot on their wedding anniversary. It turned out to be 10 years lucky when they won $1m on a scratch card.

A lucky decision made on a lucky day

Jerry Armer, from Salem in Missouri, bought the Missouri Lottery 50X The Cash scratch off ticket on his 10th wedding anniversary.He told lottery officials that he stopped off at a convenience store and decided at the last minute to buy a ticket.The lucky lottery jackpot winner said that he was shocked when he first scratched the ticket. “I didn’t believe it at first,” he said. “I had to take it back into the store and scan it there.”

Neither of them could believe it

Mr Armer’s wife said that she was just as sceptical when her husband called with the good news.“I thought he was just calling me to wish me a happy anniversary!” she said. She had no idea that it was also their lucky day.Before she would believe it, Mrs Armer demanded that her husband send a picture of the winning lottery ticket. “When I got off the phone, I just screamed to my son that we’d won!”

Plenty to celebrate, but they’re still getting used to it!

While the news is still sinking in, the lucky couple now have even more to celebrate. “I still can’t believe it,” Mr Armer said. “This was my first big win.”The pair said that aside from celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary, they hadn’t yet made any big plans for their winnings.
