Long Wait Over for $1.7 million TattsLotto Winner
For 35 years a man from Melton in Victoria, Australia has been playing the same lottery numbers. They finally came up with the goods when winning him a $1.7 million TattsLotto prize.
In total, his win in the 23 September draw won him $1,720,277.26. His was one of three tickets that shared the jackpot.
With his ticket not having been registered, lottery officials had no idea who in Melton had won $1.7 million. Therefore they had to wait for him to contact them.
It took him a while to check his TattsLotto ticket and realize it had made him a millionaire. Not surprisingly the TattsLotto winner thought he might be dreaming when discovering his big win.
Oh my gosh
He was still in shock when talking to lottery officials. “Oh my gosh. I’m still shaking,” said the surprised TattsLotto winner. He then revealed how he’d been using his lottery numbers for the past 35 years.
Many players have special reasons for the numbers that they use. That may be the case with this lucky player but he’s not sure. “I have had them for so long, I’ve forgotten what they even mean!” he revealed.
The TattsLotto winner says some of his winnings will be used to pay off his daughter’s house. The rest of his win will be invested. That’s part of the reason why he described his TattsLotto win as the best day of his life.
Mr Lucky
His winning ticket was purchased from Melton Lotto, which is owned by Phong Thai. That store appears to be a lucky place to buy lottery tickets. The owner revealed that he’d sold 62 division one winning tickets in 20 years of selling tickets. Eight of those have come in the past three years. No wonder his customers call him “Mr Lucky.”
Mr Thai added: “Our local community will be absolutely thrilled as well and I’m sure many customers will feel a bit inspired with hopes they’re the next division one winner to take home a million-dollar prize.”
